I Was Designed for This: How Human Design Gave Me the Permission to Keep Going

Today, I was lucky enough to join a session about the basics of Human Design.
If you know me, you'll know I love exploring what makes people (and myself) tick - so for a full 90 minutes, I was completely absorbed in learning how this system could offer insights into how we move through the world.
For those who haven’t come across Human Design before, it’s a fascinating blend of astrology, the I Ching, Kabbalah, and quantum physics. It’s essentially a blueprint that reveals how your energy works, how you make decisions, and what your natural strengths are....

As I sat there, taking it all in, something clicked…
The last six months have been tough.
Being self-employed is exhilarating one minute and heart-sinking the next.
I’ve questioned myself, I’ve wondered what will happen next, and - more times than I’d like to admit - I’ve asked myself if it would be easier to go back into corporate life…
Especially when my bank account has looked a little… sparse!
But today, I realised something. I was built for this!
Human Design doesn’t just describe me - it affirms why I do what I do.
And it was like a weight lifted off my shoulders.
How My Human Design Aligns with My Purpose
I’m a Projector (4/6 profile), with only two centers defined (Root and Spleen) and several activated gates that shape how I move through life and business.
If you’re not familiar with what that means, here’s the short version:
As a Projector, I’m here to guide, not grind.
Unlike energy types like Generators or Manifestors, I’m not designed to push, hustle, or force opportunities.
Instead, I thrive when I wait for recognition and invitations - when people see my wisdom and invite me to share it.
With a 4/6 profile, I’m meant to connect and lead. My 4th line means relationships are everything - success comes from warm connections and trust, not cold selling.
My 6th line means I’m stepping into a role model phase, where I guide others based on my own lived experiences.
With my Root and Spleen defined, I bring grounded intuition.
The Root gives me resilience under pressure (even when things feel uncertain), and my Spleen gives me powerful instincts - I just “know” when something is right (or wrong).
My active gates reveal my strengths as a transformational guide…
Gate 33 & Gate 11: I’m designed to reflect, tell stories, and share wisdom.
Gate 54 & Gate 32: I understand long-term transformation and the endurance it takes to create real change.
Gate 26 & Gate 21: I have a natural ability to influence and guide people toward breakthroughs.
Gate 39 & Gate 41: I help people shift their emotional state and imagine new possibilities for their lives.
When I put all of this together, it became clear:
I was designed to help people transform their lives.
It’s literally written into my energy.
What This Means for My Business (and How I’m Moving Forward)
Knowing this has shifted something inside me...
It’s given me permission to trust my way of doing things - to lean into what feels aligned, rather than what the online business world tells me I “should” be doing.
I’ll be showing up more in my full energy.
Projectors shine when they’re seen - so I’ll be sharing more video content, speaking more, and making it easier for people to recognise my magic.
I’ll focus on depth over volume.
I’m not built to do endless one-off sessions or chase clients. Instead, I’ll be creating deeper, more transformational offers where I can work with people in a way that feels intentional and sustainable.
I’ll lean into my community.
My best opportunities come through connections, trust, and referrals. So instead of trying to market in ways that don’t suit me, I’ll double down on what does - relationship-driven growth.
I’ll own my authority.
My 6th line means people naturally look to me for guidance, but I have to fully step into that role. No more doubting myself. No more waiting, now’s the time to for me to own it.
What About You?
I share all of this because maybe - just maybe - you’ve also been questioning yourself.
Maybe you’ve been wondering if you’re on the right path. If you should just go back to what feels safe.
If so, I invite you to explore yourself that bit deeper...
Because sometimes, we just need confirmation that we’re built for exactly what we’re doing…
And, when we get that confirmation?
We keep going.
